When I was a kid, winter was my favorite time of the year. I loved the snow. I loved making forts in the snow. I loved to make paths through the snow. I loved to sled, ski, snowboard, ride snowmobiles, my bike...in the snow... I was the kid who would shovel the sidewalk to my parents car and make the walls as tall as possible, or the path itself as curvey as could be. Hey, if you have the right tools, how can 2 feet of sculptable ( is that a word?) white stuff falling from the sky, not be awesome? I also think it makes us who we are. Winter is not easy. Life is not easy. Anything worth a damn, usually is not easy. Snow makes us appreciate 60 degree days a little more. It makes cuddling up by the fire place with a warm drink and your loved ones that much better. It makes drudging up that hill so worth it when you get to turn around and ride back down. :)
So instead of bitching about it, like way too many people around here do, lets celebrate it!
Save December 12th on your calendars. We are going to be hanging around, outside around the Bum Drum, building bikes, drinking hot chocolate, eating smores, riding bikes, and basically just having a good ol time! Chuck Goldy, from Blackout Distribution/KINK, will be here in his killer Jeep, handing out KINK Swag, high fives and smiles all afternoon, while I tend the Drum, build some bikes and whatever else I can do to get kids stoked on BMX! If there is snow, we will shovel it. If it rains, we'll go in the shop. If its a sunny day, sweet! Whatever the case, stop by and check it out.
We will be having sales and special deals going on then and all season long, so take advantage! Buy a Bmx bike for your kid/s and store it here until the big day comes! No charge! Buy a bike before Christmas and get $10 off our trip to RYE Airfield! Buy that bike, go to Rye, and then get $100 off our BMX Camps this summer! 3 for 3! Its easy! Shop local and we will reward you for the rest of your life!! :) And just to remind you, when you buy a bike from us, we build it for you for free and give you a free tune-up a month later. If you purchase online, you have to build it or pay a shop to build it. And if you decide to build it yourself, you can kiss that warranty goodbye. Just saying. :)
Still with me? After the sun goes down, we will move the party inside for some heated Ping Pong Tournaments, a few Bike Videos, and then we will cap the evening off with an encore performance from The Bookhouse Boys! They rocked the shop a couple of weeks ago, so we want them back to do it again! They play for free and for the love of it, but donations will be accepted :)
So to reiterate, December 12th! Goldy, KINK, Fire, Bikes, High Fives, PingPong, Videos, Live Music!! Bam! Don't forget !
Talk to you soon
